结尾原则的基本知识
1.结尾原则的概念：是在听听力段子的时候要特别注意那些含有结尾含义的词或结构。在结尾部分一般都是教授总结本节课的结论，以及学生接下来做什么。所以这个地方一般都是考点。托福听力每套题都会用到结尾原则，因此考生要注意这些结尾原则的重要性。

3.在讲座最后部分的内容一般是考点，但是在题目中所对应的题目并不一定是最后一题。听力结尾原则一般在对话中对应第五题，但是如果最后一个题是重听题，那么就有可能对应第四题。听力讲座部分的情况也是一样的，一般对应的是最后两个题目。
结尾原则的实际运用
例1. TPO20，conversation1第4题
How does the man probably feel at the end of the
conversation(暗指利用结尾原则做题)?
A. Annoyed that he has to pay a fine on the book
B. Upset that he is losing his library privileges
C. Glad that he can keep the book for two more weeks
D. Less worried about having to return the book
第一步，确定题目类型。通过阅读题目可以看出，这道题目问的是学生在谈话最后的感觉，因此可以定位到文章的最后，即利用结尾原则定位。
Librarian：But before you go, what you should do is fill out a form
requesting the book back in two weeks. Then the person who requested it won’t be
able to renew it. You’ll get it back quickly.
Student：I’ll do that right now.
第二步：根据原文选择。从before you go，暗指对话即将结束。what you
should是图书管理员明确指出学生填一张表格，最后学生以我马上去做这件事，说明学生知道这件事应该怎么做，换句话说就是知道了自己的问题因该如何做才能解决。因此学生问题解决就暗指学生就不会太担心还书的事情了。
例2. 例1. TPO3，conversation 2第4题
What information does the student still need to get from the professor?
(still need暗指本道题对应的是文章的最后部分，从出题位置和still need都可以判断出。)
A. The name of the senior researcher
B. What book he needs to read before the next lecture
C. When the train session will be scheled
D. Where the project is located
第一步：根据题目定位文章内容。
Professor : Yes, er… I want to wait still Friday to see how many students
volunteer, and then I’ll schele the training class next week at a time that’s
convenient for everyone.
Student : Ok. I’ll wait to hear from you. Thanks a lot for accepting
me.
第二步，文章提到教授提到I want to wait still Friday和I’ll schele the training class
next week可以看出教授没有确定training session的时间，学生说I’ll wait to hear from you，因此training
session仍是学生需要知道的。
第三步，总结。对于听力的结尾原则，不仅可以通过信号词进行定位，还可以通过题目出现的位置知道所提问内容在文章的位置，因此考生可以通过题目位置和文章中的信号词进行答题。
